A letter to 2011..

When I was graduating from elementary school they gave me the "communications award", on it it said "the next Barbra Walters and Oprah Winfrey." Even at that age I knew the impact of that award. I understood why they gave it to me and I was conscious of my ability to connect. People grow up and think one day I'm going to be a doctor or a lawyer but I grew up just simply knowing I was going to be great. It's not about being self righteous or over confident, it's just knowing what you CAN do. There are many people in this world just like me who knew at a young age they would be special. But it's the individual who defines all odds, battles the hardest challenges, and believes so hard that they then make that dream reality. Great people go through great struggle because they can handle great success. It's been 25 years that Ive been in this crazy world. Now after 25 years, Oprah, Barbra Walters, and Larry King have moved on. They moved over just a little for me to fit in. The spot fits one size only. This spot is mines and it's my time now, hello 2011!

HEY gUYS!!!! I'm the new intern ;-*

So I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to New York City when I turned ten. Growing up here has made half my spine concrete and the other half full of magnolias and grits. I have a lot of dreams and with this life I was given I will work to accomplish them even to the last second breathing!  I AM A FOODIE! The only reason I probably love diverse cultures other than my own is because of all the different types of food!  I space out all the time, I love meeting new people and sharing stories. I talk more than the average person, which I am going to stop writing this bio because what was meant to be a paragraph would be twenty pages!

We found our LIL Berri !!!!

Yayyy we have a new intern, and she's great! It took us around 3 weeks to find her, but it was well worth the wait. I hope you'll love her as much as we do. She will be posting an introduction soon.. soooo hyped!

"keep a child alive''

Alicia Keys "keep a child alive'' campaign was the reason some of our favorite celebs weren't on twitter, or Facebook for a week. Some people (including my self) didn't even miss them while they were gone! But this was all for a great cause, and I'm glad that they made their mark at 1 million dollars!! The campaign was very shocking, with participating celebrities shown in coffins. The stars where beautifully dead in the promo pictures, which also had some sceptics buzzing. I think the idea was harsh , AND necessary to achieve their goal. I kind of loved that I didn't have to see a tweet about a celeb having something stuck in their tooth, for a week.    I'm just saying.. .. :-/ 

PYNKBERRI 2ND ANNUAL COAT DRIVE!

I'm so excited about our 2nd annual coat drive. The Pynkz have been very busy lately trying to get everything together. This year we are having an even better venue with a great DJ (DJ Physics). Gift Bags and Polaroid pictures are going to be available. The coat drive is going to be bigger than last year so I better see YOU there! This event is going to be on December 21 2010 from 6-10 at 310 lounge located at 310 Bowery St N.Y., NY. BitterSweet

This word tends to mean more to me than anything else lately. I think 2010 has shown me a lot about my self , and my life as a whole. I've really turned up my creative side during these past few months. My new jewelry line is called "BitterSweet", and I'm really proud of it. Its become my new passion, and I'm going into it full force. No one can take this away from me, its mine even when life becomes BitterSweet.

Im Backkkkkk !!

OK! So I've been on hiatus for a few months now but its time to jump right back into the things I love! You guys being one of them. So much has happen since my last post, both good and bad. I think I have a better understanding of who I am, and what I want to be. I'm not scared to just "jump out of the window" anymore. Embracing my flaws and loving my strengths are what I've chosen to do. Each new day brings the opportunity for help, wealth and strength. I'm human, I may fall and make mistakes but i'll do it all while blowing people away.

PrettyBOi Graduates!!

Congratulations to one of our Pynks for graduating this weekend from Morgan State University!! We are all so proud of her for completing this chapter in her life. Nikki is doing big things and will continue to shine where ever she is and at whatever she does. She received a bachelors of science in Marketing and is on her way to aspiring the world with her creative and resourceful mind. Pretty Boi ... we salute you for your overwhelming achievements!

WE are on our WAY!!!

As some of you know my ultimate goal for Pynkberri is to turn this into an organization and adolescence center that helps young girls and promote community service. Well last week I was in a meeting with a wonderful high school in NYC and we are in the works to have a "girl pow wow!"It will be involving troubled teen girls in the school. As I try to mentor and pick these girls brains I will post their concerns and questions. I’m so excited to meet them and see if Pynkberri can make a difference in at least ONE girl’s life!
